Aug 30.Canyon Creek is still flowing vigorously. There are more and larger waterfalls here than described in Ann Browns book(also a steeper trail). The falls are as beautiful as always, even in the rain! |

Aug 8. The creeks in the Mineral King region of Sequoia National Park were at a decent flow, especially for this late in the summer. The Farewell Gap Trail will lead you to views of Tufa Falls, Crystal Creek Falls, Franklin Creek Falls, and an unnamed waterfall on the East Fork Kaweah River. Nearby Black Wolf Falls was also flowing quite well. Drive slowly and carefully on Mineral King Road, as the road is quite narrow with countless blind curves. |

July 27--The falls were a delight to see even late in the season, and short hike was lovely with some wild flowers still in bloom. Our group was the only visitors at the falls in the late afternoon, and mosquitos were not a problem. |

Jul 31. I had to stop at Bridal Veil Falls along Hwy 50 on my way back from my hike. It was rushing at maximum flow, a huge surprise for me. I have never seen this waterfall flowing so huge, and it is extremely late in the year for a good flow at this falls. I understand that Horsetail Falls also has a much larger flow right now than just a month ago. |

Aug 5.Alot of the snow is melted now transforming the mountains and meadows to seas of flowers and green. The trail beside Kings Creek Cascade is closed and there are muy mosquitoes.Amphitheater Falls is still worth seeing but will soon be down to a trickle. The same is true for Butte Falls. |

 |
July 26.A 4x4 vehicle is currently required when traveling to Snow Mtn from HWY 101.The road is burly with 2 river/creek crossings.Wildflowers, butterflies, and sun were abundant at/near the falls, not too many mosquitoes here. |

July 25. Visited many of the waterfalls in the Eastern Sierra region, and the creeks were flowing well. Horse Creek Falls (also sometimes called Horsetail Falls) near Twin Lakes looked very nice. The hike to the falls featured spectacular scenery of the lake & mountains, and a ton of mosquitoes. |

July 25.Beautiful and unusual, Crystal Basin Falls is past its peak flow but all the different facets are still flowing well...for now.It is impossible to get all the whole waterfall in one image. |
2010-07-26 Leon Faucherie Lake, CA Faucherie Lake Falls |
 |
July 21. Faucherie Lake Falls was still flowing quite nicely, but it was easy to cross the creek. Also check out the falls on Canyon Creek above Faucherie Lake. The road up to Faucherie Lake is one of the worst. It takes about an hour to drive 7 miles from the west end of Bowman Lake to Faucherie Lake. |

July 23.Crystal Basin is a waterfall lovers paradise (minus the mosquitoes)despite one waterfall already dwindled to a trickle and another getting close there are still 5 or 6 still flowing well.Pictured is falls#3 a small beauty near the top of the Twin Lakes trail. |

 |
July 23.The falls are flowing well for this late in the month and the mosquitoes are swarming. The area in between the Twin Lakes near the waterfall is a virtual tent city, even most weekdays in the high season. |

 |
July 17--Surprisingly, it was not crowded here on a Sat. where the temp. was said to be 110 F in Redding. We even had a few minutes all to ourselves at the overview. The fee entrance is now $8. The falls were beautiful as always. Be careful driving away from Burney as they enforce the 55 m.p.h. speed limit on 299. |

 |
July 15--Our middle-of-the week visit to this falls was not crowded, and the hot walk in the early afternoon made our arrival at this paradisal site even more blissful. We were not bothered by mosquitos and were able to rock hop into the river and cool off enjoying these amazing falls and scenery. |
2010-07-20 Rosemary McCloud, CA Middle McCloud Falls |
 |
July 14--The trail from the Lower Falls to Middle and Upper Falls was flanked by lovely wildflowers and frequent sightings of butterflies. The falls were impressive, and we had the falls and pools at the bottom for several minutes to ourselves in the early afternoon. Mosquitos were not a problem. |
2010-07-20 Rosemary McCloud, CA Lower McCloud Falls |
 |
July 14--We also saw the fall on the 12th which had more people here jumping off the ledge and swimming than the middle of the week on the 14th. A nice way to end a hike on the 12th which had been in the wrong direction looking for Middle and Upper Falls. A map next to the restroom showed the two falls to the right of Lower Falls, and since we were facing the river (east) reading the map we ended up going on the river trail to the right downstream in the wrong direction although logic told me middle and upper falls would be upstream. |
2010-07-19 Rosemary Dunsmuir, CA Hedge Creek Falls |
 |
Hedge Creek Falls was another pleasant just-off-the-road falls with a short shady trail. It was interesting to follow it behind the falls which were falling fast but had thinned out enough to kids could stand underneath the flow although the water was quite cold. Mosquitos were not a problem, but there was some poison oak on a steep short-cut path on on the trail. |

 |
July 10--Our stop here was a pleasant diversion after several hours of driving on a warm day. I thought the flow was good considering--at the least the water was coming fast creating a cooling breeze that was very refreshing. No mosquitos, and we were the only ones there. Very scenic surroundings! |
2010-07-19 Leon Twin Bridges, CA Horsetail Falls |
 |
July 19. Horsetail Falls was flowing very well, though I expected to see a lot more water in the falls considering we had a very above average snow pack this year. There were NO mosquitoes at all, and lots of people on the trail on a Sunday evening. |
2010-07-17 Michael K Tahoe NF, Nevada Co., CA Bowman Lake Falls |
 |
July 12. Canyon Creek between Faucherie Lake and Bowman Lake had a decent flow, with both Faucherie Lake Falls & Bowman Lake Falls looking nice. If you are planning to drive here, you should see both waterfalls, as the road is too long, too slow, and too bumpy to make separate trips worthwhile. |

July 7, 2010.This waterfall just North of the southern entrance to the park is flowing steady. There is still a tarp stuck at the bottom of the lower falls. The road past the summit was scheduled to open July 8. |
