Horsetail Falls is an impressively huge cascade dropping off Whittier Glacier in the town of Whittier. It drops about 200 ft. before cascading down another 400 ft.

Horsetail Falls is easily seen from the town, but getting up to it is another matter. You can walk up closer to the falls through the main parking area and campground behind it. But from there, you can not really get any closer. I heard that it is possible to hike right up to Whittier Glacier, but I could not figure out how or where to to do that. It would seem it would involve a crossing of a major cold and swift flowing creek (another tributary flowing into Whittier Creek). I did not have too much time to explore further.
