As far as roadside waterfalls (on small creeks) go, Big Springs Falls is not too bad at all. It reminds me a lot of Mossbrae Falls, and has many similar characteristics (though much smaller). Like Mossbrae, Big Springs Falls has many cascades falling down a mossy cliff side. Also like Mossbrae, it is much higher than it appears. Only the bottom 20 ft. of the waterfall is prominently visible. It actually starts from much higher up, but it is difficult to view this upper section of the falls. Unlike Mossbrae, Big Springs Falls is not a year-round waterfall. This one is best seen in the spring.
