I believe I have finally solved the mystery of Loves Falls. All trail signs, guidebooks, and other sources have always indicated that the real Loves Falls is located right along the Pacific Crest Trail, under the bridge, about a half mile from Hwy 49. And indeed, this is the actual location of Loves Falls.
