The viewpoint for Pit River Falls is not great because you are about a half-mile away from the waterfall, and there are some obstructions in the way, but it does give you a sense of the majesty of the falls if it is flowing strong. The best way to experience the waterfall, however, is to scramble down the steep canyon to the waterfall base (but this is not particularly easy to do).
