After 6 miles of hiking (and wondering if you have the energy for the return trip), you will be rewarded (and re-vitalized) when you come face to face with exciting Tunnel Falls. A tunnel has been blasted through the rock behind the waterfall (hence the name). Eagle Creek Trail continues on through this tunnel, which is exhilarating to walk through and feel the power of the water falling down so close to you. There is also a steep bank before you reach the tunnel, where you can carefully walk down to reach the base of the waterfall, an awesome place to have lunch and enjoy the water falling off the cliff far above you.
