More Shack

Here’s another view of beautiful snow and ice filled Shackleford Falls. Aren’t those icicles hanging down so totally cool?
I was standing up on a big rock to get this viewpoint. If it wasn’t so freezing, I wouldn’t mind standing more in the creek to get a shot here. haha.

I love how you can take a few steps back and get a totally new photograph. The icicles ARE totally awesome!

So, I love the waterfall, what lens filters are you using if you do not mind me asking? This is really nice..and I am a bit more adventurous, or stupid. I would have got in the water, would regret it later..but I guarantee I would have got in. We should go out shooting together some time! Great job!

Thanks a lot Matthew. This was frostbite water, so unless you had waders, not really a good idea to get in it. I’m not sure I could have gotten any better comps had I went in. Anyway, I always use a polarizer when shooting waterfalls, and that is all I use.

If you were standing on a rock, where did you put your tripod? I’m impressed you managed to stay dry. The rings of ice around each rock are amazing!

Thanks Ben. It was a big rock, big enough for me and the tripod. 🙂
